Welcome!
Wow, what a trip. After just two weeks in Central America, we easily experienced more new things than we had in the past two years.
Out of all the places Mary and I have yet to visit (and believe me, we keep a list), we chose Belize for a couple reasons. It was an area of the world neither of us had visited before. We'd both read a lot about the Mayans, and wanted to see the ruins of their civilization firsthand. I've always had a fascination with rain forest biology, but had never actually spent time in one. And above all, we wanted to immerse ourselves in something completely new.
As it turned out, we accomplished all of those goals and more. Especially that last one. Our trip to Belize and Guatemala was a unique adventure, and we are very glad we went.
